Upper Hutt Skin Clinic Service Closure

We want to let our community know that the Upper Hutt Skin Clinic will be closing its doors on 30 September 2025. This change follows the departure of Dr Jeremy Hay, who has been a valued part of our team for more than four years.

Message from Dr Hay:

“It has been my privilege to work at the Upper Hutt Skin Clinic for the past four and a half years. I have really appreciated the chance to meet and work with patients from Upper Hutt and surrounding areas. Although small, our team at the clinic has worked hard to provide patients with the best, most professional service we are capable of and I have been very proud to be part of that. I am sorry to say that I will be leaving Upper Hutt Skin Clinic at the end of September this year. The reason is that I am keen to advance my clinical knowledge and so I have accepted a position working with The NZ Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centre in Wellington.”

We’re incredibly grateful for the expertise, compassion, and professionalism Dr Hay has brought to our community, and we wish him every success in his next chapter.

From 30 September, skin cancer services will be integrated back into Upper Hutt Health Centre, where patients can book skin assessments with their regular GP.

For those who are not UHHC patients, we are working closely with Ropata Medical Centre, who can provide high-quality skin cancer assessments and surgery. We plan to have our enhanced skin service up and running again by the end of the year.

In the meantime, alternative options for skin assessments include:
