Flu and respiratory illnesses are on the rise
August 19th, 2026We’re seeing an increase in influenza and other respiratory illnesses in our community, so we’re taking some extra precautions to help protect our patients and our team.
If you have flu or respiratory symptoms, please:
•
Call us before coming into the practice so we can advise you on the best option for your care.
•
Where appropriate, stay home and rest, and consider a phone consultation rather than coming into the practice.
•
If you do need to attend the practice, please wear a mask to help protect other patients and our staff.
•
If you’re unsure whether you need to be seen, our team can help with triage and advice.
Symptoms of influenza can include fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches, fatigue and feeling generally unwell.
Most people with influenza can recover at home with rest, fluids and appropriate symptom relief. If you are concerned about your symptoms or they are getting worse, please seek medical advice.
