June 9th, 2026We have recently been made aware of a scam where an individual has contacted a patient while pretending to be one of our GPs. They did this to request a payment be made to them personally via gift cards.
We want to be very clear:
Upper Hutt Health Centre staff will never contact you to ask for money or any gift in this way.
If you ever receive a call, message, or email that seems unusual or requests payment directly to an individual, please do not engage. Instead, contact us directly using our official phone number to verify.
We take the privacy and safety of our patients very seriously and appreciate your vigilance.
