Upper Hutt Health Centre is a large teaching practice with an enrolled population of 17,000 patients, providing a wide
range of services, including acute health care, minor surgery and nurse-led clinics, eg Diabetes and LTC Long Term Conditions. We provide an after-hours acute service every day, including week day evenings, weekends and public holidays.
As an integrated family health centre, we have a variety of health providers on site, including radiology, podiatry, audiology and pharmacy.
We are a Cornerstone accredited practice as awarded by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
Upper Hutt Health Centre is a training practice for GP registrars. A GP registrar is a qualified doctor who spends time at the health centre in order to gain general practice experience under supervision from of our very experienced doctors. A regular cohort of medical and nursing students also spend time at the health centre for clinical training and experience.
