Dr Lisé Kljakovic

MBChB, FRNZCG, Dip Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, Certificate Dermoscopy, Dip Sports Medicine

Managing Director and Shareholder of UHHC. Special interest in skin cancer diagnosis and management.

Lives in Silverstream with husband and cat Billie. Three grown up children and one grandson. Loves sport, travel, gardening, good food and good company, is passionate about being a Kiwi and being the best that you can be!


  
 

Dr Mike Sim

MBchB, FRNZCGP, Dip Obstetrics, Dip Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery

Mike, a shareholder of UHHC, grew up on a farm near Rotorua and studied at Otago Medical School. He divides his working day between his GP practice, the UHHC Skin Clinic and providing medical services to Rimutaka Prison.
  
In his spare time Mike enjoys tramping, skiing, keeping fit and touch rugby.


  
 

Dr Alister Rhodes

MbChB, FRACP, FRNZCGP, Dip Obs, Fellow of RNZGP

Born and bred in Levin and a graduate of  Otago Medical School, Alister is a long time resident of Upper Hutt. Having worked for over 40 years in the area Alister is a familiar part of many local families.

A keen cyclist Alister has competed in most of the Karapoti Classics, an annual mountain biking event in the nearby Akatarawa forest. Photography, films and live theatre are among the pastimes Alister enjoys along with spending time with his family and grandchildren.


  
 

Dr Peter Gillies

MBChB, FRNZCGP

Pete graduated from Otago Medical School and has spent many years in General Practice at Upper Hutt Health Centre and has an empathy with alternative therapies.Very interested in the visual arts, music, golf and tennis as well a passionate gardener.


  
 

Dr Tatiana Tkachenko

MD, FRNZCGP, FRACGP, PhD in Medicine

Tatiana was born in southern Russia, graduated from Rostov-on-Don University and came to NZ in 1998.

Working in general medicine and especially urgent care are what Tatiana enjoys most.

Kayaking is one of her favourite past times. Although Tatiana's life is busy she finds "everything in life interesting"!


  

Dr Shelley Stansfield

MBBcH South Africa, FRNZCGP

After graduating form the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg Shelley worked in various rural hospitals gaining enormous experience in all aspects of medicine. Shelley moved to NZ in 1991 and is happy to call this 'home'.

Shelley's special areas of interest include Rheumatology, Dermatology, Cardiology and Elderly Care. Works in a number of Hutt Valley rest homes as well as her GP practice.

Shelley is involved with GP Registrar training and enjoys supporting and encouraging the new GP's within the practice.

In her spare time Shelley enjoys tramping, cycling, gardening, travel, music and art along with spending time with her family and friends.


  

Dr Sally Woods

MBchB(UK), FRCGP(UK), Dip Family Planning(UK), FRNZCGP(NZ), Dip Paediatrics(NZ)

Sally graduated from Leeds University Medical School in the UK and included in her specialty fields are paediatrics and family planning.

Sally is married with two young children and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

In her spare time she likes sport, outdoor activities and travel.


  

Dr Melanie Avery

MD, FRNZCGP, Diploma Travel Medicine

Melanie was born in Manila, and graduated from the FEU NRMF Institute of Medicne in Quezon city in 1988. She did 2 years post graduate internship, 1 year as GP in Manila then two years as cardiology registrar in King Fahd hospital in Jeddah, KSA. After that 8 years in Fiji as senior medical registar before coming to NZ . Rotations in Wellington, Wairarapa, and HVH before doing GP training here.  Post graduate degree completed 2006 from University of Otago.  

Melanie lives locally with her family and in her spare time enjoys art and travel.


  

Dr Simon Robinson

MBChB

Dr Simon Robinson was born and grew up in the Wellington area. He studied at Otago School of Medicine and is enjoying working and living in Upper Hutt.

Simon enjoys running, cycling and swimming along with spending family time with his wife and two young sons.

Dr Glenn Neo

M.B.B.S. and GDMH

Glenn graduated in Singapore with M.B.B.S, Grad Dip in Mental Health and practised in a number of hospitals and primary care clinics in Singapore.

Glenn finds working in general practice rewarding giving him the opprtunity to build a rapport with patients and their families. He has a special interest in working with the mental health of patients.

Outside of work Glenn is keen on travelling, especially exploring the Pacific region. Among his favourite pastimes he enjoys fine art, concerts, sports matches and drinking good coffee!


  
Dr Fred Maes, UHHC

Dr Fred Maes

Advanced Masters Degree in General Practice, Degree in Tropical Medicine, FRNZCGP, Cert Dermoscopy

Fred was born in Poperinge, Belgium and studied medicine at Leuven University (Belgium) and holds an Advanced Masters degree in General Practice. He was awarded FRNZCGP on 1 September 2015. Fred came to NZ a number of years ago and enjoys the great outdoors as well as being a keen hobby farmer. He is married with 2 young children.


  

Dr Musab Hassan

MBChB

Musab, originally from Malaysia, came to New Zealand in 2006 to start his medical study in University of Otago. Since Musab graduated, he worked in a few different specialties across a number of hospitals in Wellington and Auckland before deciding that General Practice was his career choice. Musab loves to spend time with his wife and young child and with friends as well as working in his community. Any spare time Musab has is focused on completing his FRNZCGP requirement through GP College.


  

Dr Reshmi Gounder

MBBS, FRNZCGP

Fijian born but a converted kiwi, Reshmi came to New Zealand to start work as a doctor in 2009. Reshimi is a mother of two young children which aligns with her interests in paediatrics and child health.


  

Dr Tim Humphrey

MBChB

Tim hails from Tauranga but has made the Hutt Valley his home. Tim has committed himself to general practice because of the family medicine approach. A keen rower, Tim also finds time to play the piano.


  

Dr Oday Rafoka

Bachelor Medicine & General Surgery

Born and trained in Iraq, Oday has been working in New Zealand doing a variety of medical work since 2012. Oday is passionate about general practice and has made this now his career of choice.
In his spare time, Oday loves to spend time exploring nature, fishing, playing soccer and spending time with family and friends

Our highly experienced and skilled practice nurses are an integral part of the practice team. Our nurses work closely with the doctors to provide a range of primary health services to people with acute and/or long term conditions

Our friendly and helpful team, the first people you talk to either by phone or at our reception desk. Our medical admin team provides valuable support to our patients and to our practitioners.
